Stop the Secrecy

Pro-Internet groups and supporters like you have kept us going.

Mon, 12/31/1973 - 16:48 -- Joel Milne

This December, hundreds of you joined OpenMedia as monthly donors through our Allies program, and over one thousand of you contributed with one-time donations. You answered the call to help us stay strong in 2013, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you so much.

We at OpenMedia rely heavily on small individual contributions from our community, which allow us to keep fighting for Internet freedom, and to keep winning against seemingly impossible odds.
This most recent Allies Drive, however, included something extra special: something we call the Connected Future Fund. In a nutshell, through the Fund, pro-Internet organizations pledged to double the monthly contributions of those who became OpenMedia Allies in December.
On behalf of the OpenMedia team, I want to take a moment to name and thank the organizations that contributed:
Combined with your contributions and ongoing support, the help of these groups will play a pivotal role in ensuring we can keep bringing citizens together to use the Internet to save the Internet.
OpenMedia Founder Steve Anderson described the importance of the Connected Future Fund in a letter to supporters, writing: “Before this matching funds support for our December Allies Drive, I didn’t know how would continue mobilizing this community.”
Please take a moment to check out the above websites, and show your support for those organizations that are stepping up to protect your digital rights. Again, thank you all again for allowing us to stand with you. We’ll do our very best to keep fighting for your interests and ensuring that the digital future belongs to citizens in 2013 and beyond.
